With a B.F.A. in painting and fifteen years of corporate graphic design experience stored in my professional tool chest, I now embrace the freedom and joy of autonomy in my career and creative journey.
My work is influenced and shaped by my surroundings. From the colorful doorways in Milos, Greece to the unique forms of Antonio Gaudi’s architecture in Barcelona, Spain; I tend to find my inspiration in the architecture, objects, patterns and textures that catch my attention. As an ever-evolving abstract artist, I am inspired by the unconventional techniques and remarkable visions of Hans Hoffman (“push and pull” technique), Willem de Kooning (unconventional tools and thick paint), Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat (childlike iconography and mark making). As a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, I choose to show the lightness in the world instead of the darkness.
I work in oils and spray paint combined with enamels, oil crayons, markers and stencils. I rarely hold a brush, preferring to “sculpt” my work using scrapers, rollers, hands and even applying paint straight from the tube.
If you seek meaning in my work, find it in the vibrant colors, rough textures and playful techniques. There you will find my happiness and perhaps yours, too.
THIS is my visual playground.
